Dreamin' of a Picnic
What could be better than enjoying an outside picnic in this beautiful weather? That's what I have been dreaming of lately - good food, good wine, & a good man! I think I can muster up all three if the timing is right.

Fall Spirit
I'm already in my Fall state of mind and would love to be lounging around today in bed. This would be the perfect backdrop for me and with the windows open and slight breeze - so heavenly! I could seriously stay in that bed all day long! Ahh, Fall - isn't it the best!

A Little Coziness
After today, I am needing a bit of coziness! Charming, warm, relaxed - this fits the bill perfectly. I'll be here all night!

Carey Mulligan
Breath-taking!
Can it get any better than Carey Mulligan in Vogue? I think not! That's why I was so blown away and excited when I saw Carey Mulligan on the cover of Vogue on Saturday. (Yes, the hubby was even a little embarrassed at how excited this made me. I can't help it - the joy inside me crept out and I had no control-no control.) Then the hard part came - waiting for my issue to come in the mail when I wanted to buy it right then and there.
But now worries, I did not wait too long (just longer than I wanted!) Just as I had been anticipating, my very own copy arrived for me in the mail today. Now, I treasure all of my Vogues and try not to pick favorites - but this one issue (October 2010) makes it a little difficult for me to stay true to that statement. I am loving (OK, obsessed) with Carey Mulligan right now and have been for a while! She is my muse du jour, my style darling, and it is just icing on my pretty little cake that she is in Vogue this month! I'm not going to go on and on about her and this event (even though I could) because I want to just lay out this beauty in the most simplistic, uncomplicated way I can think of. I'm just going to say look at the magnificent photos of the magnificent actress and enjoy!
And get this - there's more! And they are just as good! Check out Vogue for all the photos.

Breakfast Please!
Could I please wake up to a breakfast spread like this one? I think it would just make my day a little more wonderful.
Or yes, breakfast in bed will do just fine as well!

My Happy Place
image via apartment therapy
Isn't this such a charming place? So cozy, organized and cluttered all at the same time. Just my style! (Loving the stacked pictures on the wall by the way!)
It's the perfect place to wrap up the crazy, hectic, wore-me-out week that I had. Dreaming of resting here all weekend long!

My Kind of Up-do
image via dress design decor
I am not the proper type of up-do kind of girl. Never have been, never will be. The messy top-knot is a favorite of mine at the moment (I'm even sporting one right now!) There is something so attractive about a structured, embellished dress topped off with a messy up-do. Love it!

Brighten Up Your Life
images via erin ever after and bright bazaar
A lot of people are afraid of color in their homes. Now, as I am one who loves my white, our house is actually very colorful and bright. I didn't tend for it to be that way; it just sort of evolved on its own (yes, with my shopping help of course.) I do think color adds an eclectic vibe that can not be achieved with white alone. (Though varying the shades of white can help a lot, giving the space that depth needed to create comfort.)
There is so much that can be done, but I think most people just settle for some catalog version of what they think they want. Why would you leave your home, style, life in someone else's manufactured, mass produced vision? (OK, enough of my rant.)
Bottom line - you can create absolutely any stunning room with colors or no colors. Just take a leap!
As of now, I'm loving colors. I will probably change and then come back and then change again as the ever evolving styles of my heart play out. But, let's enjoy color for a while!
PS - Just to brighten up your day, the next time you buy something for your home, buy something bright! A bright picture, vase, chair, or if you're really daring - couch! (That's next on my wish list!) See how it makes you feel.

Flashback Fashion Week
images via style
New York Fashion Week is pushing on and once again I'm not there to enjoy all the craziness and fabulous-ness. (I know that's not a word, but I don't care.) One day - that's what I tell myself!
As all the beautiful spring lines are prancing down the runway and teasing us, we are just beginning to feel the breath of fall back in the real world. So, as a gift to all of us, I want to remind you of the beautiful fall fashion that captivated us back in February - none other than Burberry! Stunning, spectacular, superb, star-gazing, slap-in-the-face, spit-in-the-bucket superior! (OK, you got me. I was just looking for more crazy "s" word adjectives to use - I don't even know why I picked "s" - lets just enjoy and marvel about what we all want to wear for fall!) Perfection!
All that leather and fur and edginess is what I'm wanting this fall! Don't get me wrong - I'm no animal hater, but just how can you resist those looks - all of them. Every look that stomped down the runway was breath-taking. I want/no need them all in my closet right now! Right now I tell you - hubby, please?!

Rue Mag
image via plush palate
Like most of Domino's devote readers, I was crushed when the magazine went under. There really is no other shelter magazine that can compare. It was the perfect styling, creativity, and do-it-yourself ideas magazine that an interiors-lover could ever dream of. Good thing I have the book to hold on to!
But it never fails, when one supreme ends - others come to the rescue. Enter the online magazines! I'm already a loyal fan to Lonny Mag and am now looking forward to the emergence of Rue Mag (any day now)! Just look at the sneak peek images above - so divine! The premiere issue is due out this month, and I'm so excited, thrilled, over-the-top relieved that the online magazines have satisfied my interiors love!

Gisele, The Supermodel
images via Harpers Bazaar UK August 2010
The other day I wondered into a Barnes & Noble looking to waste a little time, and happened to read the Harpers Bazaar UK spread on Gisele. (OK, I didn't just "happen" upon the magazine or the spread; my actual purpose was to go in there and do just that. But none the less I picked up the mag and sat myself down!)
Normally I browse through looking at all the edgy photo spreads that encompass the European fashion magazines and never really read the full articles that accompany them. But, this one time (just because I love Gisele so much) I read the cover story, and I don't know how it was possible, but I fell in love with Gisele even more. I know, I know - you say how can that be? She's amazing in every possible way - from that tousled, roughed-up mane all the way down to those perfectly long legs - but its true! I fell in love with her even more!
Read the article and you'll do the same. You get to see the sensitive, nurturing side of the Glamazon Supermodel, and you'll fall. You'll fall hard!

In The Kitchen Part 3
images via 1. design sponge, 2. unknown, 3. 4. 5. House Beautiful
Aww - those simples details! Are ya'll listening to me out there? Style is all about the details and how everything plays together. You want everything to get along and play happily. It makes all the difference in the world and can transform any place!
I'm currently dying for that fridge and oven! (Added to the dream kitchen wish list - it's getting kind of long now.) It brings an other-worldliness (is that a word?) to the home and could make anyone enjoy cooking.
And then those counters littered with all those goodies! (OK, so I've come to the realization that adding bread to the picture instantly raises the bar to drool-worthy - and yes, you guessed it - I'm a carb lover!) These images make me not feel so bad about our poor little counters crammed to the max with everything from fruit to electric appliances to knick knacks. I'm kind of proud now that I see how good it looks! (See hubby, I knew what I was doing all along!)
