The Last Days of Summer

I guess we've made it to another end. . . of summer, that is.  Even though I love Fall and could spend all year in it, I'm a little sad to see summer go by so fast this year.  I can't even believe that 3 months ago we were just starting this new season out.  (Where did the time go?!)

But, here we are - Labor Day.  We're wrapping up all our carefree, effortless summer days to embark on our ambitious fall dreams.  (I always think about You've Got Mail, when Meg Ryan is walking down the street to open her shop with flowers in hand talking about "bouquets of sharpened pencils" - now that is Fall, quintensential Fall!)

You will find me today at one last pool and pizza party with the family.  I'll be soaking up my last tan for the summer.  (Who am I kidding - I don't tan anyways!)  I'll be trying to soak up a tan.  Any little bit of a tan.  Or maybe just a sunburn.

What are your plans today and do you look forward to a new season?  A new chapter?

Vows

We are off to a family wedding this weekend, and although I love attending other people's weddings, they just always take me back to my own and all the emotions that I experienced on that one day - THE DAY.  It's strange to describe, but it was the best day of my life, the most emotional day of my life and the biggest adventure of my life.  When the hubby and I were standing in that tiny chapel speaking vows directly to each other, something magical happened.  I committed to him and he committed to me.

With that said, I am ready to conquer anything in this life with him (good and bad) and would follow him anywhere and everywhere.  That was such a joyous day for me, and that's why I think I enjoy other people's weddings as much as I do.

(Is it obvious that I'm a romantic?)

Confession 008: The Search

I have a nightly routine (yes, every single night) that includes green tea before I go to bed. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find my favorite kind anywhere lately.  And I mean anywhere!  I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I have stopped at every single grocery store (a little time consuming) I come across for the search and have had no luck.  Today, my wonderful momma made two pit stops for the search and lucky for me, she found it!  Only six boxes left in the store and don't doubt for a second that we got all six!

So here's a thank you kiss to my momma who always goes above and beyond for me - mwah!

Our Christmas

We had such a great Christmas spending time with family, giving gifts, watching football, getting crafty, and most importantly reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas - the birth of Christ!  I can't believe it's already over; time to gear up for 2012!

Thanksgiving

I am very thankful today (and everyday) to be so blessed!  Big blessings and small blessings included.  What are you thankful for?

On the Road

We are on the road to Granny's house.  (How classic is that?) And yes, we'll be headed to the desert - West Texas!

The Aquarium

The family (minus the hubby) spent the day at The Aquarium, and I will be the first to admit that it was so much better than I expected!

Gone Shopping

I had a fun little (ok, couple of hours) shopping trip with the Mims tonight, and now I'm exhausted.  Hey, but I stimulated the economy and got a little cardio in all while building up my Fall wardrobe.  I say that's a positive!

And you Fall weather better being sticking around for a while.  I have too many new sweaters that are needing to get some wear asap!

To my sister . . .

Happy Birthday to my sister and my best friend in the entire world!  You have always been there for me and held my hand through it all; I can not tell you enough how much I love you and appreciate you!  You are the best big sister anyone could ever ask for!
