A Colorful Start

Here we are...2013.  It's the start of a new year, and I am gravitating towards color.  And lots of it!  I'm not much for color when it comes to my wardrobe but am definitely a fan when it comes to the home.  I'm ready to do some cleaning out and rearranging to where we are only left with the pieces that we love - and they are full of color!

Orange you glad it's summer?

 

I am so glad it's summer, but I can't believe it's half way over.  What did I do the whole first half?  I still have some projects and trips I want to get done.  Ehh!  Oh well, I still have a month and a half to have a go at it so there's no stopping me now.  I am going to get motivated and knock out all I want to get done, but there's just one problem . . . I'm so tired!  Isn't summer a time of rest and relaxation, or is that just a thing of our school days past?  (It's tempting to become a teacher.)  Why can't I just lay on a beach somewhere for the next month?  I just know that would make me so very productive once I got back.  Ha - or I might just be wishing I was back there!  Yeah, probably the latter.

Color Craze

In the past I used to be afraid to use so much color, but lately I have been bolder with my choices.  I want strong rich colors (like this purple scheme above) but also something that is easy and comfortable. 

I am still torn between all white and all color, but if you would make me decide today, I would have to go with all color.  What about you?

A Colorful Wishlist

I have added these little babies to my wishlist.  Along with these and these.  I have no will power when it comes to Anthropologie, and it doesn't help that everything in the store and online is drenched in color and pretty patterns.

Keep me away or my bank account will be in serious need!

 

Pattern Play

Patterns are huge right now (and will be in my personal opinion for quite some time) and I'm obsessed!  (Even if they go out of style, I think I will still be obsessed.)  I am a big big fan of mixing patterns and textures - in the home and in your wardrobe.  (A little side note, I hardly ever truly match when I go out in public.) 

The reason I like this combination above is because it's a little bohemian with a dark twist - right up my alley!

Pink Pink Pink

Just to start off, I am NOT a pink girl.  But (and yes, that's a big BUT) I have been so loving pink lately.  I have bought 2 pairs of pink pants and TOO many pink tops to count.  What is going on with me?  All this color craze for Spring has gotten to me.  I'm not really sure who I am anymore - neutral lover turned color fanatic!  I am just loving pink, and what's the problem with that?

The hubby even brought up my crazy color mindset recently when I mentioned that I want a pink couch.  REALLY - me want a pink couch?  A pink couch!  (The hubby might have a little problem with that.)

I have to admit it, Spring has gotten to me.  (Maybe it's because we didn't have a true winter AT ALL!)  I have been obsessed with color lately and believe it or not - pastels!  Well, maybe not your "all the way pastels" pastels, but I am definitely loving a pale pink shade with a bright pop of orange.  Love it!  Want it!  Borderline obsessed with it! 

I will take that outfit, that bouquet and most definitely that cabinet.  Yep, just go ahead and pack it up and ship it my way.  I might not have a place for the little baby yet, but trust me, I will find one!

This room embodies almost all of my favorite things - white bed, pops of color here and there, birds (in decor only, not the real ones) and lucite furniture.  What a great way to start off the weekend!

Color Me Yellow

I am not usually a bright color wearin' gal, but lately I've caught the color bug.  And not just any color bug, but YELLOW!  I've really never been a huge fan of yellow for anything - until recently.  Last fall, I was into (really into) mustard, and that was strange for me.  But now that spring is just around the corner, my tastes are gravitating toward a brighter, more neon, shall we say yellow.  Weird.  Just weird.  But I love it!  (And I really love that last outfit combo!)
