Hats to the Rescue

Are you into wearing hats?  I am becoming more and more of fan these days.  (Mainly because it's a rare occasion that I fix my hair!)  But I guess I can count myself lucky that there's so many stylish options out there now.  And who doesn't like to pile on multiple layers to brave the cold and then top it off with a wide brim hat?

This style above is exactly my jam.  It's simple but obnoxiously quirky at the same time.  I could rock that outfit everyday as well...hat, neutrals, and an oversized clutch!  (I need that clutch!)

Post Pregnancy Uniform

I cannot wait to get back to my standard uniform - baggy sweater, skinny jeans and ankle boots.  It's been interesting trying to find things that cover this bump, but I'm a creature of habit and routine.  I like my "uniform" and am pretty excited to get my favorites back in rotation.

(But not as excited as I am to meet this little!  Come on already...don't make us wait too much longer!)

Jumpsuits For Days

What do you wear when it's over 100 degrees everyday, and you know it's only the beginning to a long hot summer?  My answer - jumpsuits!  They are airy, easy and so comfortable.  (There's only a slight difficulty actually taking the thing off every time you have to go to the bathroom, but hey, it's worth it!)

All these lovelies are from Anthropologie, and I might have stocked up a little this weekend to prepare me for the months to come.  (They are having their summer sale, you know?!)

Off to the Weekend

This weekend we are heading to Chicago - woo who!  I'm excited for 2 reasons 1) to have a little break from the mundane work week and 2) to enjoy my last little bit of the cold before our scorching Texas summer comes to claim its territory.  (And of course, to spend some "fun" time with the hubby!  That's my favorite reason for pretty much everything!)

So, I'll be layering up and enjoying every minute of it because layers just so happen to be my best friend.  It's probably my last chance for coats, sweaters and blazers, so you can bet I'm packing them all.

Dear Cold Weather,

Please, please don't go away just yet.  I am enjoying layers far too much to have to put them back up in my closet.  My coats don't get as much use as they should, and they are some of my favorites!  There is just nothing better than layers upon layers of solid neutrals.  That is why you come around, right?  So we can pack on as many clothes as possible.

To Color or Not To Color?

It's getting a little chilly out, and I couldn't be happier.  I'm loving neutrals this season and am tempted to abandoned all color in favor of black, gray, white, cream and beige.  It's so chic and simple, and not to mention so European.  (And don't we all want to be European?  Or is that just me?)  

But then again, I just don't know.  I still love the colorful coat and how it pulls an outfit together.  That extra pop of color can be just as chic and simple.  Help!  What is a girl to do this Fall?

I missed out on yet another fashion week (one day I'll make it!)  and one of the shows I wish I could have attended was Suno.  (How cool are these girls?!)  It balanced chic, quirky and modern, which in my book is pretty darn perfect!

Now, can I please have everything delivered straight to my closet, and can I please have someone teach me how to "tame my mane" into this futuristic 'do?

That 70's Style

Call me a flower child.  Call me a bohemian.  Call me a hippie.  I don't care because they are all true, and I have been diving into the 70's deep end lately. 

I am totally taken with the colors, fabrics, patterns and design the 70's bring to fashion (and design!)  There is something so free and easy to the pieces and everything just seems to . . . flow!  (And that is probably what I like the most.)

Pink Pink Pink

Just to start off, I am NOT a pink girl.  But (and yes, that's a big BUT) I have been so loving pink lately.  I have bought 2 pairs of pink pants and TOO many pink tops to count.  What is going on with me?  All this color craze for Spring has gotten to me.  I'm not really sure who I am anymore - neutral lover turned color fanatic!  I am just loving pink, and what's the problem with that?

The hubby even brought up my crazy color mindset recently when I mentioned that I want a pink couch.  REALLY - me want a pink couch?  A pink couch!  (The hubby might have a little problem with that.)

Long Hair

These girls are making me want to keep my long hair.  (Not to mention, I want their impeccable wardrobes as well!)  Why can't you have short hair some days, and your long hair magically grows back on others?  Why!

The weekend flew by, and here we are again - Monday.  Here I am (in my wonderful business attire) wishing that this could be my Monday wardrobe every single week.  How awesome would that be?  I think I could handle the Monday Blues a little better if I felt as comfortable as this outfit (from Madewell) looks!

Color Me Yellow

I am not usually a bright color wearin' gal, but lately I've caught the color bug.  And not just any color bug, but YELLOW!  I've really never been a huge fan of yellow for anything - until recently.  Last fall, I was into (really into) mustard, and that was strange for me.  But now that spring is just around the corner, my tastes are gravitating toward a brighter, more neon, shall we say yellow.  Weird.  Just weird.  But I love it!  (And I really love that last outfit combo!)

Summer Shoes

I am a devoted Garance fan.  (If you're not, there is definitely something wrong with you!)  Every single one of her posts is so witty and charming and funny and down-to-earth (and her photography is awesome.)  This little shoe post hits the nail on the head around these parts.  It is so hot (like 80 degrees hot!) and it's only March.  That makes me feel 1) ready for summer and 2) scared for summer - is it going to be another 100 degree marathon? 

At least we can wear some pretty summer shoes and sandals.

Whew!

This week has flown by (more so than any others recently!)  It was my birthday week (had such a great one), so we did have quite a lot going on, but I couldn't be more excited for the weekend to actually be here and to put my feet up and get some rest.  Hope we all get some rest this weekend and then back at it next week.  (How come it never ends?)

And, I just need to mention my socks and wedges love afair.  Need these!
