Off to the Weekend

This weekend we are heading to Chicago - woo who!  I'm excited for 2 reasons 1) to have a little break from the mundane work week and 2) to enjoy my last little bit of the cold before our scorching Texas summer comes to claim its territory.  (And of course, to spend some "fun" time with the hubby!  That's my favorite reason for pretty much everything!)

So, I'll be layering up and enjoying every minute of it because layers just so happen to be my best friend.  It's probably my last chance for coats, sweaters and blazers, so you can bet I'm packing them all.

Vows

We are off to a family wedding this weekend, and although I love attending other people's weddings, they just always take me back to my own and all the emotions that I experienced on that one day - THE DAY.  It's strange to describe, but it was the best day of my life, the most emotional day of my life and the biggest adventure of my life.  When the hubby and I were standing in that tiny chapel speaking vows directly to each other, something magical happened.  I committed to him and he committed to me.

With that said, I am ready to conquer anything in this life with him (good and bad) and would follow him anywhere and everywhere.  That was such a joyous day for me, and that's why I think I enjoy other people's weddings as much as I do.

Adventures

Aren't these images stunning?  They are from the great Katie Quinn Davies from What Katie Ate.  (Only one of my most favorite food photographers and bloggers.)  These shots make me want to get in the car and take a great road trip adventure around old towns in the South.  (And trust me, that says something because I am usually not the road trippin' type!) 

But don't you ever get the urge to just get up from your day to day life and do something crazy? Adventurous? Scary?  The hubby, being the philosopher that he is, asked me this question - "Do you think those sudden impulses to do something crazy are moments of insanity or moments of clarity?"  Wow!  That's something I could ponder for quite some time and don't know if I could ever say I was 100% certain which it is.

I would love to hear what you think. (It will be great motivation for our weekend!)

Friday Flowers

Even though this has been a short week, it has definitely taken its toll on me.  (A lot of times those short weeks seem to do that.  Am I the only one?) 

But, I'm sure glad it's Friday, and one of my favorite things to do on the weekends is buy myself some pretty flowers.  Yep -  I buy them for myself and then place them all over the house.  They just seem to brighten my days.  You should try it this weekend, it's a pleasant highlight!

Saturday Mornings

Saturday mornings are one of my favorite times of the week.  You get to rest.  You get to relax.  You get to cuddle.  You get to eat your breakfast slowly.  And you get to just enjoy the time.  (Of course, Saturday mornings aren't the only time you get to do all of this, but for me, it all usually takes place then.)

It doesn't get much better than a cozy sweater, a good blanket and one perfect Saturday morning.  What's your favorite time of the week?

Weekend with the Hubby

It's the weekend again!  Who-hoo!  I can't wait to spend time with my honey and just enjoy hanging out together.  It seems like our weeks have just gotten so unbelievably crazy, that I long for the downtime the weekend brings.  (Sometimes)  Sometimes we aren't so lucky and our weekends are packed full as well. 

Hope you all get to enjoy some downtime, great company, or many adventures.  Or how about all three!

Traveling Fools

This past weekend, the hubby and I took a road trip to west Texas.  (I hate being in the car!)  And to all you out there who haven't been to west Texas and are wondering if its everything you imagine it to be - yes, it is!  If you imagine it to be dry, windy, and hot with tumble weeds and dust devils - then you are spot on.  I was reluctant to admit that I liked this environment at first, but each time we go back, it grows on me little by little.

And as to me hate being in the car, I'll have to say that this trip wasn't half bad.  (How can it be bad when you are singing at the top of your lungs every Adele song you have on iTunes?)  I can't complain.

Whew!

This week has flown by (more so than any others recently!)  It was my birthday week (had such a great one), so we did have quite a lot going on, but I couldn't be more excited for the weekend to actually be here and to put my feet up and get some rest.  Hope we all get some rest this weekend and then back at it next week.  (How come it never ends?)

And, I just need to mention my socks and wedges love afair.  Need these!

I'm a Bride . . . Again!

We are doing a fun shoot today. and yes, I get to be a bride again!  You know I can't pass up an opportunity to put on my dress.  Shoot, I don't need a photo shoot to pull my Carrie out of the closet - any Saturday morning works just fine!  I'll fill you in on the finished product once we are done.  Happy Weekend!

Happy Saturday

Happy Weekend to all!  It's a long one for me, and I couldn't have been in more need of one.  (Even though we just finished with all the holiday hoop-la, or maybe because of all the holiday hoop-la!)  No matter what the case may be, I am going to soak up these next couple of days with my honey just hanging out together and maybe going on a few dates!  What's your plan for this weekend?  Here's to hoping there's something bright in our near future.  (Much like Michelle's kicks!)
