I can't believe my little babe is 9 days old already.  (I could cry just thinking about it because I want him to stay this age forever.)  

Smith, you are the sweetest, easiest little one that we could ask for.  We spend our days laying in bed snuggling, feeding and sleeping.  Your papa and I are completely smitten.

To Add Color or Not?

We are still in the process of unpacking and decorating the new house, and even though I've been drawn to neutrals and pretty much white everything, I would still like to add a little pop of color here and there.  The dining room above mixes neutrals and a pop of color perfectly in my opinion.  I'm not sure if the hubby would like that much pink in our house, but I would be game for it.  It's simple and modern but yet still comfortable and inviting.

The only room we have finished right now is the nursery.  Every other room in the house is either 80% finished or no where even close to being finished.  (And I don't want to do any of it because I have the sweetest little newborn to snuggle with all day long.  Can you blame me?  It's way better than unpacking boxes.  Actually, it's way better than pretty much anything.)

Smithson Lee Clay is finally here.  I couldn't ask for a better baby or a happier time for our little family.  Smith is already 5 days old, and I find myself not wanting the days to pass by so quickly.  If it were up to me, he would stay a newborn forever!

Today is officially my due date, so we'll see if this little babe decides to join us.  

Post Pregnancy Uniform

I cannot wait to get back to my standard uniform - baggy sweater, skinny jeans and ankle boots.  It's been interesting trying to find things that cover this bump, but I'm a creature of habit and routine.  I like my "uniform" and am pretty excited to get my favorites back in rotation.

(But not as excited as I am to meet this little!  Come on already...don't make us wait too much longer!)

"A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2014."

Let's start this year off with a new baby and a new project.  I'm going to be doing the 52 week project where I post a portrait of my child once a week, every week for a year.  This will be perfect for this little babe's first year of life (if I can keep up, we'll see how the newborn stage goes).  So here we go, week 1/52...our reality = this little babe is still in my tummy just waiting to come out (hopefully soon) and we still have boxes to unpack in the house.

Here's the post that started this fun project.

Waiting.

It's officially time to wait.  Wait for this precious little babe to come join our family.  I will be doing a lot of sleeping, laying around and last minute nursery prep this week.  Let's hope we don't have to wait too much longer because I sure am ready to trade this bump for a sweet little newborn.
