Flashback Fashion Week

images via style

New York Fashion Week is pushing on and once again I'm not there to enjoy all the craziness and fabulous-ness. (I know that's not a word, but I don't care.) One day - that's what I tell myself!

As all the beautiful spring lines are prancing down the runway and teasing us, we are just beginning to feel the breath of fall back in the real world. So, as a gift to all of us, I want to remind you of the beautiful fall fashion that captivated us back in February - none other than Burberry! Stunning, spectacular, superb, star-gazing, slap-in-the-face, spit-in-the-bucket superior! (OK, you got me. I was just looking for more crazy "s" word adjectives to use - I don't even know why I picked "s" - lets just enjoy and marvel about what we all want to wear for fall!) Perfection!

All that leather and fur and edginess is what I'm wanting this fall! Don't get me wrong - I'm no animal hater, but just how can you resist those looks - all of them. Every look that stomped down the runway was breath-taking. I want/no need them all in my closet right now! Right now I tell you - hubby, please?!

Rue Mag

image via plush palate

Like most of Domino's devote readers, I was crushed when the magazine went under. There really is no other shelter magazine that can compare. It was the perfect styling, creativity, and do-it-yourself ideas magazine that an interiors-lover could ever dream of. Good thing I have the book to hold on to!

But it never fails, when one supreme ends - others come to the rescue. Enter the online magazines! I'm already a loyal fan to Lonny Mag and am now looking forward to the emergence of Rue Mag (any day now)! Just look at the sneak peek images above - so divine! The premiere issue is due out this month, and I'm so excited, thrilled, over-the-top relieved that the online magazines have satisfied my interiors love!

Gisele, The Supermodel

images via Harpers Bazaar UK August 2010

The other day I wondered into a Barnes & Noble looking to waste a little time, and happened to read the Harpers Bazaar UK spread on Gisele. (OK, I didn't just "happen" upon the magazine or the spread; my actual purpose was to go in there and do just that. But none the less I picked up the mag and sat myself down!)

Normally I browse through looking at all the edgy photo spreads that encompass the European fashion magazines and never really read the full articles that accompany them. But, this one time (just because I love Gisele so much) I read the cover story, and I don't know how it was possible, but I fell in love with Gisele even more. I know, I know - you say how can that be? She's amazing in every possible way - from that tousled, roughed-up mane all the way down to those perfectly long legs - but its true! I fell in love with her even more!

Read the article and you'll do the same. You get to see the sensitive, nurturing side of the Glamazon Supermodel, and you'll fall. You'll fall hard!

Hope you enjoy the long weekend as much as I'm going to! And don't you just love Cat?! (Oh, and I got to get those boots! And that hat! And, well - everything!)

In The Kitchen Part 3

Aww - those simples details! Are ya'll listening to me out there? Style is all about the details and how everything plays together. You want everything to get along and play happily. It makes all the difference in the world and can transform any place!

I'm currently dying for that fridge and oven! (Added to the dream kitchen wish list - it's getting kind of long now.) It brings an other-worldliness (is that a word?) to the home and could make anyone enjoy cooking.

And then those counters littered with all those goodies! (OK, so I've come to the realization that adding bread to the picture instantly raises the bar to drool-worthy - and yes, you guessed it - I'm a carb lover!) These images make me not feel so bad about our poor little counters crammed to the max with everything from fruit to electric appliances to knick knacks. I'm kind of proud now that I see how good it looks! (See hubby, I knew what I was doing all along!)
