Confession 003

I have another confession for you dears - I am not (and I mean NOT) a Halloween fan!  Yes, I know you get to dress up in fun costumes (just doesn't do it for me unless it's couture) and eat tons of candy (I would take a cookie over candy any day of the year) but it's just not my cup of tea.

That doesn't mean that I don't appreciate a good goth-inspired spread just like this one of Anne Hathaway in Interview Magazine.  It's sublime, and I love every bit of it!

Billy Buds seem to brighten my days (even those long agonizing ones like today.)  And the best part about having them around is they are so low maintenance?  They last forever and don't need a lot of water.

Gone Shopping

I had a fun little (ok, couple of hours) shopping trip with the Mims tonight, and now I'm exhausted.  Hey, but I stimulated the economy and got a little cardio in all while building up my Fall wardrobe.  I say that's a positive!

And you Fall weather better being sticking around for a while.  I have too many new sweaters that are needing to get some wear asap!

There's a bake-fest going on over here at the Clay kitchen, but I need to get a little confession off my chest to you guys (because I know you won't judge!)  I hate the clean up!  No really - hate!  Most people don't mind it and can get through it because you have some yummy treats to look forward to, but I hate it almost enough to not bake ever again!  

PS - Probably not, because I like cookies too much, but you get what I'm saying, right?  Anyone with me?

Falling for Fashion

This week we are suppose to get true Fall weather, hello 50 degrees and welcome.  (Yippee!)  I can't wait to be wearing all my sweaters and boots and not sweating to death.  Beanies, boots and long layers, oh my!  (My new perfect duo - maxi's with desert boots!)

The Jean Jacket

The hubby has been hassling me since we got married (3 years ago - yikes!) to clean out my closet.  He claims that I don't even wear half of my clothes and that they are just taking up precious space.  My argument has stood strong over the years that one day I might want to wear it again.  Right?

Well guys, this season is my season of redemption.  The jean jacket has made a come back.  And my dear hubby, if I would have cleaned out my closet like you have asked (multiple upon multiple times) I would not have my trusty jean jacket from 10th grade (perfect wash and shrunken fit.)  

And therefore, I am not going to throw anything out that I love because one day I might have the smallest inclination to throw that baby on again and wear it!

Confession 001

Small confession for you guys ... I can't seem to throw away any of my fashion magazines - there, I said it!  

Now, this wouldn't be that big of deal for the average person, but for someone who had a subscription to Vogue and Harpers Bazaar since high school, the stacks are getting pretty high.

And not to mention the fact that we have to pack them all up and lug those god-awful heavy boxes from place to place each time we move.  (Thank you, honey! - Yes, even with all the complaining the hubby does when it comes to my magazines, he is still the one who carries them.  What a keeper!)

Happy Birthday to my sister and my best friend in the entire world!  You have always been there for me and held my hand through it all; I can not tell you enough how much I love you and appreciate you!  You are the best big sister anyone could ever ask for!

The Plaid Shirt

One of my favorite things about Fall is the dressing.  And my go-to, no fuss wardrobe of choice this Fall involves the plaid shirt, dark jeans and desert boots.  Yep, if you see me out and about, I'll probably be wearing a variation of that exact outfit.  (I do like to change it up, but don't we all pick our favorites?)

Take It Outside

Autumn is here (hopefully for good) and it's time to start enjoying the "outside" a little more often.  It is perfect weather to take your meals outdoors, and although patio time is a great option, how about changing things up a bit with a quaint little picnic?  And what better way to pack it up than in this cute bucket? Right - right?
