Feeling a little domestic today!

I got bit by the domestic bug today. Don't you just get in those moods sometime when all you want to do is bake, prepare and nest? Well, today is definitely my day, and I attacked it full force.

On the menu tonight-grilled rib-eye steak (for the hubby-yes, he likes his steak!), roasted beet and carrot salad, steamed asparagus, and for dessert (drum roll please) blueberry cake! And oh my does it smell good. I've had the recipe for a while, but just haven't made it yet. Can't wait to taste it tonight! All those blueberries, lemon zest and vanilla have my taste buds a wanting! I'll let you know how it actually is-let's pray it lives up to all the hype!

PS-The pictures above are some gifts I got from my family for my birthday. Aren't they just great?! Both the family and the gifts that is. They always know exactly what I would like from Anthropologie(the wish list helps a bit!) Just walking into the home section of Anthropologie just makes me want to be even more domestic. The hubby was great enough to let me register there for our wedding! And let me tell you, I love every bit of our domestic paradise we now call a part of our home.

PSS-The cake was divine!!

City Girl in the Country

So by and by I would consider myself a city girl! Yes, true to the core - I love the city! But once a year, we get to go to Colorado with the hubby's family and be truly "rugged". OK-so I don't know how much truly "rugged" I am, but I pretend anyway.

The hubby and I make a much needed trip every year before we head out to REI for gear and go on search for some "rugged-wear" at our normal city-wear spots. (I don't know how much rugged-wear you can get at the Gap, but this year the Gap was my go-to Colorado hotspot.) I loaded up on baggy-jeans, a military jacket (thank you Gap Kids!) and the all needed chambray shirt. And who would have thought that this would be the perfect season for all the goods to get much needed wear here in the city afterwards?!

OK-enough about the wardrobe (does that prove I'm a city girl?) and let's just marvel at the natural beauty the world has to offer. Even though I'm a city girl, I can still appreciate and enjoy the country!

And those clouds! Look at those clouds! I have been obsessed lately and will go more into that another time.

At a Stand Still

image found via jjjjound

How beautiful is this image?! Fashion has always fascinated me, but for some reason this image has jumped out at me far beyond any other. I believe the back of a dress can elevate it to new heights and can create a certain mood you are wanting to portray far better than the front of an outfit. Wow! I could wear anyone of these every day, but then again I might have looked a little odd at the grocery store this morning in all-out couture in 101 degrees. But enough said. Let's just take this time to be still and appreciate how beautiful this image is! Genius!

The time is now!

Let's begin at the beginning. I have been meaning and wanting to create a blog for the longest time but kept putting it off because I couldn't get it quite right in my head. So, the time is now - enough analyzing and perfecting in my head, and let's get everything out there. Yes, out there! But who knows where "out there" really is? I have a true passion for styling, interiors, fashion, shopping, traveling, weddings, vintage and a hodge-podge of many more things. Trust me, many many more things! This is going to be my little "escape" to share everything and anything that just happens to be tangled up in my head and heart and has been for so long. I hope you enjoy everything that takes my breath away. Welcome to my bohemia!
