The Rustic Farm

I'm not much of a farm girl, but I do have this fantasy of living "rustically" in the fabulous country side. And I would imagine my barn and kitchen to look something like the pics above. Perfectly styled with all the homegrown goodness strewn about.

All the Cool Girls

Garance Dore knows how to capture all the cool girls around town. Not the "snobby" cool girls, but the cool girls who can wear short shorts with blazers and button-downs. So sophisticated with a casual twist! Exactly what I love!

That Vintage Feel

I'm a sucker for pretty much anything vintage, and this dining room is no exception. I love the colors, the warmth, the lived-in feel that goes along with anything vintage. It brings forth character that most new objects/spaces lack.

Layers

We are having a little cold front visit us and its going to become a regular thing from here on out. So my plan for the chill - layers! Yes, I am one to always love the layers, but I especially love them when they are disheveled and thrown about!

Happy Thanksgiving

A lot of times we lose track of all that we have to be thankful for - and I have so much! I truly am blessed and am so thankful for my life, my family, my friends, and all the little wonderfuls that make up everything else!

Thank you for visiting my little blog!

Oh, The Pie!

It's not even Thursday yet, and I'm already obsessed with pie! That's not a good sign!

They're Coming!

We all know that the holidays are a great time to get together with family and friends. But we sometimes forget, that they have to stay somewhere when they come into town to visit, right? Hello, guest room! (Or you could just shack them up in a hotel room, but where's the fun in that?!)

Yes, I like to stay in a tidy, comfy place when I travel and like to provide the same to my lovely dears coming into town. Now, many people could care less what their guest rooms look like or what their company's reaction to these said rooms are, but I, my friends, do!

My perfect guest room would be tidy, simple, unique, vintage and a little off beat. Throw a quirky quilt on a vintage white bed and ta-da! You have a guest room to welcome just about anyone!

Bring on the Food

I am dreaming about all the gorgeous food awaiting me on Thursday, as Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday!

And to get your taste buds warmed up for the quickly approaching feast in a couple of days, I am treating you with the spectacular images of Katie Quinn Davies. And let me tell you, she is a pro - and I mean pro! I am in awe of every single one of her posts on her blog What Katie Ate. Her styling is so simple and rustic, but elevated to another level at the same time.

Who knew images of food could be so captivating. And she's all self-taught! She wanted to become a food stylist and photographer, and BAM - she went for it! That's the kind of passion I'm fascinated about and strive for in my own life. Enjoy all her beautiful images, and yes, you'll be hungry!

Simplicity in Flowers

I'm in a nesting mood today and found some flowers at the market to fit my domestic state just perfectly.

Wouldn't this be a great and simple centerpiece idea for a wedding? I imagine rows and rows of bottles filled with baby's breath!

Chosen

The wish lists have been updated - right in time for the holidays! Is it strange that I just realized that I chose things based off of styling more so than the actual product? At least, I'll have some pretty things!

Classically Handsome

I hate it when guys try too hard or don't try it at all. It is so hard to find that perfect balance and pull it off flawlessly. But guys, when you do - you make us so so happy!

And a guy with style is difficult to find. Either they have it or they don't. And most of them out there, don't!

Pasta Perfection

So the Fall not only makes me marvel at absolutely everything, it also makes me crave pasta.

Give me a pretty plate filled with mounds and mounds of swirling pasta and scattered root vegetables, and I'm a happy camper. Ok, I'm not really a camper (not at all) but I'm up for pasta any day of the week.

Then place me in a small cafe with a chalkboard wall, ahh perfection!

The Fall Transition

Are you getting sick of me saying how much I love Fall? I can't help it - I just love it! I can become obsessed this time of year, and I think I've already achieved that state - sorry.

I love everything about the season - the cool air, the savory dishes, the rustic colors, the cozy smells, and of course, the layers upon layers of clothing! And I don't know if I love Fall because of these magnificent layers or the other way around. Oh well, does it really matter?

I can not get over the oversize blazer-preppy-with an edge look either. Menswear is here to stay, and even though I can be a girly-girl (only at times, very specific times) I love that hard attitude it brings.

Living In Color

We're back! A little sad about that fact but it feels good to be home. (There really is no place like home!) And since we were saturated with color all week long, I thought I would continue the streak with this amazing colorful home that balances simple and vibrant and chic all at the same time.

Off to Mexico

We are off for vacation - woo who! It has been a long time coming, and I am way too excited to wait any longer. I will be out of touch for the week, but will be enjoying a relaxing, luxurious, beach-lounging time with the hubby!

Pack It Up

Packing is never fun - not even when you are packing for vacation. We're headed out in the morning, and I haven't even started yet. I never procrastinate, but I always seem to put off packing until the very last minute. I just have to keep my eye on the prize - vacation!

Two Years

I can not believe it! The hubby and I are celebrating our 2 year anniversary tomorrow. It has been the best 2 years I could have ever imagined, and I wouldn't change a thing - well, maybe some little details here and there. But that is what makes up life, right?

I am now a wedding fanatic due to the absolutely perfect wedding that we experienced. I still have on the agenda to have one every year for our anniversaries - yeah, it hasn't happened yet. But I'm still hoping!

To sum up the past two years - I couldn't have been blessed with a more genuine, more handsome, more caring, more loving, more supportive husband! He's a keeper!

Bits from the Trip

I know it's a bit strange, but on the road trip last weekend, I was just as excited to eat at my favorite College Station joints as to go to the football game.

I had it all planned out, lunch at the quaint sandwich shop, Blue Baker, and dinner at our favorite fast food Mexican venue, Rosa's - back to the college days!

Well, as it turns out Blue Baker has moved! Yes, they moved the small, off-beat, individually owned shop to a highly produced, right in the middle of all the chaos retail space. All the charm was gone, but the sandwiches were still just as good! And of course, Rosa's didn't disappoint.

Loved the artwork in Blue Baker!

We couldn't wait on pictures before hand. We gobbled everything up as fast as we possibly could!

And the game. Right smack in the middle of our eating plans. We were so close - Row 7! And what a wonderful game - Aggies came out with the victory!

Rainy Day

It has been raining here all day, and I mean all day! I feel like I'm stranded here at home in all this water - yikes! But I really want to be stranded in "that" home in all "that" water.

How romantic and secluded! I could drift away and not even mind straying farther and farther from reality.

My wish will be granted soon enough - we're leaving for vacation next week! I couldn't be more ready!

There's a Chill in the Air

Fall is trying to break through, and oh do I hope it stays! It is my absolute favorite time of year - no doubt.

And for some reason I always get head-over-heels obsessed with New York when Fall is here. I don't know if it is because of the opening scene in You've Got Mail or all the bundled-up scenes in Sex and the City, but something comes over me. So much so, that I get the urge to pack up and move - yes, just move! No holding back - I have to go!

I have this idea that if you're in New York during the Fall, all you need is lots of layers and a good strong hat. Is anybody with me?

Fall, New York - one day! One day soon!
