A New Year is a Comin'!

Yes, 2010 is coming to a close, and although it has flown by, (I can't believe it - you know you are getting old when you start saying that!) it has been a great one! We have moved, started new challenges, celebrated 2 years of marital bliss (hehe!) and started my little blog! Tomorrow is the last day of the year (I really can't believe it - how many times can I say that, but it's true) and I am ready for a new year, new journeys, new experiences. Bring it on!

"Change is the only constant in this world." (I've hear that quote so many times but can't remember where it's from originally. Oh wait, I know - it's in a India Aire song!) Profound, right? And a little deep for Bohemia, but it's true. Enjoy the New Year!

Merry Christmas!

I know it's not here quite yet but we are going out of town to Granny's house tomorrow (how old school Christmas does that sound?) so I will be away from the "blogging world" for a bit. So, Merry Christmas to all!

This is our little "vignette" for our Christmas tree and presents this year. We only put up the little tree because we have so much going on with moving, that it seemed impractical to go full-throttle. And I am really loving our wrapping idea with the newspaper! I looks so rustic and quaint. (Good call, hubby!)

Enjoy the time with family, friends, and loved ones and eat up! (As if we haven't been doing that already. It's Christmas - that's what you're suppose to do, right?!)

Did Someone Say Maroon?

Thought I would continue today with a little more Karolina for you all - I am loving her lately! I am also loving the maroon(especially maroon velvet!) Did this color get a new PR push for the season? I mean, come on! I think I forgot about the color altogether, and then seeing it here, it's perfection! I love it for fall and winter. It's deep and dark, and fresh and new at the same time. I'll definitely be on the look out during my shopping sprees ahead.

Down and Out

So, everything must have caught up with me. I went to the doctor and got diagnosed with the dreadful Strep. (How could I forget how painful and miserable this is?) Oh well, this too shall pass - and hopefully just in time for Christmas!

PS - I hate to use this gorgeous image of Karolina Kurkova on a sick post, but I'm too tired to go-a-searching for another. Be back tomorrow in better spirits!

I don't think I can mention enough how much I love layering and side braids!

Much Needed Rest

I'm not feeling so hot today and all I want to do is lay in bed and catch up on my magazines. (I am about a month behind! Yikes!) But the to-do list will not "do" itself, so I have been running errands like crazy.

Hopefully the rest of the day will include some rest and laying around. These images give me great inspiration for a cozy afternoon snuggled up with all my favorite reads!

Please, Please, Please

I know it's the time for giving, but I feel like I've been asking and asking lately. Yesterday it was the home office and today it is - a 2nd wedding dress!

Can I please, please, please have a second wedding? It would totally justify a purchase for this Lela Rose gown. (I might be a little crazy just buying it because, but oh well, who wouldn't want a pretty dress?!)

Ahh, and I would do the styling the exact same way. Here's to dreaming (and asking) even though I don't really know who I'm asking! - I guess today it's the wedding fairy.

Dear House Fairy,

Can I please, please, please have a home office exactly like this one? Pretty please!

Christmas is in the air!

Even though Christmas is not my favorite holiday (please, don't hate me) I am getting sucked in more and more as I see all the beautifully styled holiday photo spreads come along. And I think the one that tops them all (for me) is the Rue Mag spread with The Girls with Glasses. I'm loving the vintage inspired art-deco themed photo shoot. It makes me want to pack up all my decorations here at home (mostly red - I've always been a red fan) and start over with a new "blue and green" mind set. I love it, and if you would have asked me earlier if I would want to put up "blue" decorations at Christmas, I would let you know that there is absolutely no chance at all!

That's the glory of magazines (and now e-zines) - they open your eyes to new possibilities!

Bohemian Street Style

I can't resist a good dose of bohemia whether it be in an outfit or an interior.

Here, I love the hat, the boxy coat, the bag, the sandals with tights - ok, I just love the whole outfit! Can you blame me? All the pieces stand out on their own but also blend so well together. That takes true style!

The Side Table

This might be my perfect side table. And yes, most people look over the little details that seem mundane and uninteresting, but those are my favorite and seem to make me so happy!

Black Walls

How daring are these? I'm infatuated with them at the moment - so daring and bold, but understated at the same time. I think I might have to give them a try in my own little abode sometime soon.

Isn't it crazy how something so out of the ordinary can fit right in - with the right styling, of course! If you walked into this house, the black walls probably wouldn't even jump out at you. And that's just how its done, people!

Monday Madness

I am in overload mode today. Mondays are always crazy, but this one blew it all out of the water - supreme craziness! I had a million things to do at work, and then a million more things came in on top of that.

If only the clutter at my desk looked as pretty as this collage, I think I could bear it a little easier!

The Norwegian Way

Are you dying yet? I know - heaven, right?! I have been gawking at this Norwegian place for a while now and today seemed like the perfect day to share - it's Friday for one, and I'm off from work for two! Yippee! So, hopefully I can pull myself away from my little Norwegian escape long enough to get some things done - and I have quite a list to get started on. Happy weekend!

Portraits

Have I mentioned that I'm a little obsessed with weird portraits at the moment? And I want them all over my house! Yes, I'm serious, I really do!

The Rustic Farm

I'm not much of a farm girl, but I do have this fantasy of living "rustically" in the fabulous country side. And I would imagine my barn and kitchen to look something like the pics above. Perfectly styled with all the homegrown goodness strewn about.

All the Cool Girls

Garance Dore knows how to capture all the cool girls around town. Not the "snobby" cool girls, but the cool girls who can wear short shorts with blazers and button-downs. So sophisticated with a casual twist! Exactly what I love!

That Vintage Feel

I'm a sucker for pretty much anything vintage, and this dining room is no exception. I love the colors, the warmth, the lived-in feel that goes along with anything vintage. It brings forth character that most new objects/spaces lack.

Layers

We are having a little cold front visit us and its going to become a regular thing from here on out. So my plan for the chill - layers! Yes, I am one to always love the layers, but I especially love them when they are disheveled and thrown about!

Happy Thanksgiving

A lot of times we lose track of all that we have to be thankful for - and I have so much! I truly am blessed and am so thankful for my life, my family, my friends, and all the little wonderfuls that make up everything else!

Thank you for visiting my little blog!

They're Coming!

We all know that the holidays are a great time to get together with family and friends. But we sometimes forget, that they have to stay somewhere when they come into town to visit, right? Hello, guest room! (Or you could just shack them up in a hotel room, but where's the fun in that?!)

Yes, I like to stay in a tidy, comfy place when I travel and like to provide the same to my lovely dears coming into town. Now, many people could care less what their guest rooms look like or what their company's reaction to these said rooms are, but I, my friends, do!

My perfect guest room would be tidy, simple, unique, vintage and a little off beat. Throw a quirky quilt on a vintage white bed and ta-da! You have a guest room to welcome just about anyone!

Bring on the Food

I am dreaming about all the gorgeous food awaiting me on Thursday, as Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday!

And to get your taste buds warmed up for the quickly approaching feast in a couple of days, I am treating you with the spectacular images of Katie Quinn Davies. And let me tell you, she is a pro - and I mean pro! I am in awe of every single one of her posts on her blog What Katie Ate. Her styling is so simple and rustic, but elevated to another level at the same time.

Who knew images of food could be so captivating. And she's all self-taught! She wanted to become a food stylist and photographer, and BAM - she went for it! That's the kind of passion I'm fascinated about and strive for in my own life. Enjoy all her beautiful images, and yes, you'll be hungry!
